Abstract

In the article there are analyzed the discursive representations of the newspapers La Prensa y The Buenos Aires Herald on the Catholic Church, between 1976 and 1983. On not having had been «partners» of the State in the company Papel Prensa S.A., the media questioned some actions concretized by the Argentina civil-military Dictatorship, at the time that they legitimized others, as the same Coup d'état. In relation with the Church, both media reinforced the construction of the sense imposed from the official speech and from the ecclesiastic conservative sector: the idea of a public opinion opposite to all the forms of commitment with the popular sectors, installed from the third mundismo, and the argument of the existence of a «dirty war» as an interpretive key that time.
