Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the columns of La Prensa referred to the freedom of the press that were published during the de facto government of the general Roberto Viola, to identify which were the ideas that the columnistas of the newspaper tried to install before the readers and the strategies they used to achieve it. The analysis was carried out on the publications of the period between March and December 1981, corresponding to the three main columnists: the Observer, Jesús Iglesias Rouco and Manfred Schönfeld.
