Abstract

During 2013 the authors did a work of observation in the Escuela de Cadetes de la Policía Federal Argentina (pfa), space for training of senior staff. Cadets recurrently commented that admission to the institution meant a radical change, the end of a stage of life and the beginning of a new one. Admission to the institution was represented as the start of a rupture, an ontological change, an existential mutation. These representations are analyzed in the work in order to reflect on the inclusion of the police in a labor-moral career; understanding this as the path of subjectivity framed in labor dynamics that shape patterns of representation of self and otherness.
