Guerrilla Theatre: The Black Organization during the years of the post-dictatorship Argentina
Keywords:
urban interventions, experimental theatre, post dictatorshipAbstract
The work refers to the theatrical interventions conducted by the collective La Organización Negra/The Black Organization in urban public space, during the years of the Argentine military post dictatorship. It is a group of young actors who, having abandoned their studies at the Conservatory of Dramatic Art, decides to form a collective of aesthetic research and experimentation, which included "command scenes" (also calls "artistic guerrilla" actions) in non conventional spaces, such as the streets of Buenos Aires or the nightclubs of the city. In the present text I rebuild and examine some of the actions deployed by the group between the years 1984-86. The hypothesis that guides the study is that these actions may be reading as part of a network of new aesthetical-political experiences, that formed a political response of resistance and confrontation that aimed to restore the social bond broken by terror, from the establishment of other forms of sociability and values alternative to those raised by the military Government, transforming in a radical and decisive way the forms and scope of counter-hegemonic cultural and political actionDownloads
