Abstract

The article proposed an analysis of
reading and readers of the magazine
Caras y Caretas during the year 1916,
moment of changes in the electoral and
political system of Argentina because the
country celebrated the first presidential
election under the Sáenz Peña Law. The
study tries to make an interpretation of
the representations that the magazine
offers its readers in order to investigate
their areas of reception and reading
practices. Roger Chartier (1995, 2005),
Néstor García Canclini (1989) y Beatriz
Sarlo (1988, 2011) are some of the authors
who support this work theoretically
and methodologically that is all around
extensive research in progress.
