Abstract

The author reflects on the shrinking of the State, from his experience of what he calls «the long night of Dictatorship». When the Coup d´état of 1976 takes place, the well-known journalist, who was employed at the newpapers La Razón and El Cronista, began to collaborate with the magazine Temas, of the state company Petroquímica General Mosconi. The role of the State in the economy, in the domestic industry development and in job creation and the value of Latin American integration, are topics that the publication was defending and that they overfly this story, inspired by a present in which the current Argentine government takes up the slogan of those years: «Shrink the State is to enlarge the Nation».
