Abstract

This article is part of the research “Proliferation and implications of the uses of Facebook in 12-15-year-old teenagers in the 9th area of Buenos Aires outskirts”. It was developed in 2012 in the framework of Uses of Interactive Media Observatory. Its objective is to show the result of the work developed in Malvinas Argentinas district, in the 9th area of Buenos Aires outskirts. Exploratory and qualitative research results are shown here. The techniques used in this research were participatory observation and extensive interviews. The article, which is based on the use given to profiles and subject presentation, analyzes who become famous and why they get higher visibility, how they do it and how they sustain it.

Licenciada en Comunicación por la UNGS. Becaria de investigación y docencia en la misma Universidad. Participa del Observatorio de Usos de Medios Interactivos como investigadora. 

Asiste en el dictado de la materia Concepciones de la Comunicación en la UNGS. 

Ha participado como expositora en Jornadas y Congresos.
