About the concept of aggression in the thinking of Herbert Marcuse

Abstract

This work attempts to study the concept of aggression in the optic of the philosopher Herbert Marcuse. This concept is related to the called “opulent society”, the consequences of social modernization and the advance of capitalist social system. Technological rationality and “exceeding repression” allow the existence of peculiar kinds of aggression in contemporary society.   Solutions might come from the reaction of poor populations and its demands for new social-ways of life.
