Abstract

“Peter Capusotto y sus videos” TV show, is a humor show that allows a diversity of readings, and generates social critics. The TV show explorations that have place here, has to do with this, and it’s proposed as a supposition, that considers irony as a putting in scene and used in representations as a social criticism vehicle, addressing items related to poverty, social stigma, difference, discrimination, between other subjects. Different characters of this program are analyzed, but three of them get more attention, from a semiotic perspective, in order to achieve description and analysis that let get closer to those characters’ construction forms, its humor, and the critics that the actor realize from his creation. All this does not imply a reception analysis, but of the possible interpretations that arise from the communicational offer of this television program. Besides semiotics, other theoretical aspects are considered for the actor’s humor and irony analysis, who provides a personal and particular treatment to the social issues that deserve his attention in the programs.
