Abstract

Malvinas is for our country a permanent and inalienable cause that ratifies the legitimate and imprescriptible sovereignty of the Argentine Nation over the southern archipelago. On the eve of the 40th anniversary of the armed conflict of 1982, we intend to go through some milestones of Argentine and United Kingdom filmography, in order to (re) think about the concepts of collective construction of memory from audiovisual media. In my Master's Thesis, I proposed a study on the modalities of construction of the audiovisual story from a selected corpus of television audiovisual productions made during the period 2002-2012. There, fourteen pieces were selected in total: seven Argentine, seven British. Throughout these years we can note the consolidation of the documentary, in various modes of circulation through television screens. This work stops at the identification of three modalities of use of Computer Generated Images (CGI, in its acronym in English) as a narrative resource that often takes the place of archive material. This use of computer technology is related to the possibility of replacing the lack of reference material on battles. The text is part of the work carried out within the framework of the Research Project "Policy (s) around the media in contemporary Argentina" (IDH / UNGS).
