In the article we discuss the socialization of knowledge and learning generated in the university extension, from six basic assumptions. The association between extension and the ecology of knowledge is presented as a starting point, to outline, then, some approaches about the knowledge derived from extension programs and projects. Likewise, the importance of the systematization of praxis is highlighted as a fundamental part in the processes of knowledge
and learning socialization that takes place before, during and after the development of the practices. Finally, it closes with some limitations and pending tasks in the transformation agenda of the university for the socialization of knowledge in this area.
