Abstract

We prepared this review based on viewing the documentary Lemebel, a faggot revolution, screened in 2019 within the framework of the La Plata Latin American Film Festival (FESAALP). The autobiographical documentary reissues the performances of Pedro Lemebel (1952-2015), writer, visual artist, activist and precursor of the queer movement in Latin America. We consider it pertinent to highlight that the documentary shows that a present body, with its practices and discourses on the public stage, is political, and, at the same time, collective.
