Abstract

This paper presents the results of a survey research performed at students of the National University of La Plata (UNLP) about their attitudes towards the most important social institutions. Trust perceptions towards the judiciary are described as well as towards the National parliament, political parties, public administration, the church, the government, police, media outlets, labor organizations and private sector. Together with the description of university students' attitudes in relation to institutions, the paper seeks to explain possible factors that give origin to these attitudes. The most relevant finding is that on a very critical context towards the general institutional framework, students express a higher level of trust towards public institutions, fundamentally those linked to three powers of the State.
