Abstract

In his life as a reader, writer and university professor, Vladimir Nabokov constructed a unique, complex, and systematic literary reading model. The objective of this article is to analyze the reading model developed by Nabokov to read authors such as Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Gógol, Dickens, Austen, and Proust, and to examine master pieces such as “Don Quixote de la Mancha” o” “Dead souls”. The corpus selected for the analysis include his class notes, his letters, his novels, his interviews, and biographical essays. Nabokov’s great reading trajectory is evidenced through the analysis of documents such as his “Lectures on Literature”, “Lectures on Russian Literature” and “Lectures on Don Quixote” and his novels such as “The Real Life of Sebastian Night” and “Pale fire”. His experience and reading formation are also demonstrated in his letters, interviews and biographical essays referenced in publications such as The Nabokov-Wilson letters”, “Selected letters” “Strong opinions” and “Nicolai Gógol”
